About This Service

e-Commerce Store Outfit Styling

There's no denying that e-Commerce is the ultimate way of the future and if your label isn't online, it simply doesn't have a chance of thriving. With so much competition and high customer expectations, you need to ensure you give your product is given it's best chance at being noticed. Low quality, un-styled images barely make the cut anymore.

Luckily, this is where most of my experience comes from after working for two major online retailers. So you can rest assured knowing that your products will be styled in a way that sells the particular garment or accessory, without the audience getting distracted by other misplacements or styling pieces.

Working in this area requires a quick eye, sound judgement of what does and doesn't work together, knowing where to adjust garments to fit the model properly and being organised.

In the first instance it is important that we discuss your brand and target market, so that all outfits are styled to suit your audience and communicate the correct message. There is no use dressing your model in Converses if your customer is in the market for evening wear or fashion heels if they're from the surfer community!

This service is offered in-person and virtually.

Option One:

Partial Prep by your Team

This service involves someone from your team to send me clear product images and steams the garments prior to shoot day, as there usually isn't enough time to steam between model prep and beginning to shoot.

On shoot-day, I will come in and pair the outfits based off the images provided and make adjustments as needed. Adjustments include making temporary, non-damaging adjustments when a garment is too big for the model, having a quick and critical eye to catch anything out of place (saving you time and money on editing costs) and having the outfits ready to go one after the other to keep to a time schedule. Tags will be kept with garments for easy post-referencing.

  • Need help finding a Hair & Makeup Artist in your area? As an added bonus, I can help you with this - free of charge. Booking & payment is coordinated by you.

Styling for an e-Commerce store is about making sure your product is the key focus in the images, everything else is there to compliment the product

Complete the Personal Styling pre-service questionnaire.

This provides key details about you, your business, audience and brand message.

You have provided me with the product images (so that I know what i'm working with) and now I am pre-styling.

Around this time someone from your team will steam the garments (if your store is apparel based)

Service is now complete and balance of service fee paid within 7 days

We have a quick call to go over your answers and meet. If you're happy to go ahead, I will send you over the payment details for the deposit to secure your booking.

Shoot day! I will arrive a suitable time prior to shooting to put outfits together and in order to shoot.

Option Two:

Stylist Full Prep + Style

This service is the full package! All preparation, styling, dressing of the model and attention to detail is on me and if you need help securing a model or HMUA, I can assist with that too.

What I require from you is images of all the product that will go online, prior to the shoot taking place. This allows me to pre-style the garments and identify the additional styling pieces we will need on the day (i.e. footwear). On the day of the shoot I will attend the studio location, steam the garments, organise them in order to be shot, dress the model in each outfit and keep an eye out for details.

Keeping an eye out for detail while shooting is a huge part of my work and will save you money on editing costs and time before receiving your photos back. It's things like tags, hemlines flipped up, hair placement, product creases and how the product is sitting on the model that I look for and even any distracting objects that may draw attention away from the focus of the image - being your product.

  • Available to businesses located between Brisbane - Byron Bay area. Travel fees may apply - see FAQs.

  • Depending on how many skus/products you need shot on the day will determine if I need access to the garments earlier than the time between when the model is having HMU completed and when we start shooting. This time will be for steaming and putting outfits in order

Quick call to quickly go over your answers and for an introduction. If you're happy to go ahead, I will send bank details for deposit.

Send me over images of all the product that we will be shooting.

Shoot day! I come in and steam, put the outfits together, dress the model and make sure product is showcased at its best!

Balance of service price is paid and hopefully we can start working on the next range.

Option Three:

100% Virtual Styling

This is a great alternative if you just need help putting the actual outfits together and are comfortable with steaming, dressing and keeping an eye out for detail while shooting.

All that I require from you is clear photos of the product to be shot and you will be supplied with an outfit style guide to use on the day. This will also include any styling piece recommendations, such as footwear and jewellery.

Note: If you are located on the Gold Coast, I can style the outfits in person prior to the shoot day and you will still receive the outfit guide to use as reference. You will still be in charge of steaming, dressing the model and anything else required on the actual shooting day - travel fee of $39 will apply.

Suitable for less than 40-50 products

Quick call to quickly go over your answers and for a little introduction. If you're happy to go ahead, the full service is paid upfront.

Send me over images of the products to be shot and I will begin styling. Option for Gold Coast businesses to have this done in person

Receive the outfit styling document and call me if you have any questions at any point.

Option Four:

Accessory, Footwear or Jewellery Brand Styling

I always recommend having at least one image of an accessory, footwear or jewellery as an on-model image. Having the product shown on a human provides the customer with perspective and a bit of lifestyle. It’s not necessary to have the on-model image as your hero shot, but it should definitely be in the mix to assist with sale conversion.

Now, let’s be honest. Styling this type of product does not require the same amount of work as apparel does i.e. you likely don’t need outfit changes for every piece and the outfit isn’t the focus of the image. The outfit is there to compliment your item, but not distract the customer at the same time.  So, I figured that it’s not fair to charge you the same as I would for a clothing retailer and hence, I have offered a service specifically for accessory/footwear/jewellery retailers.

  • Need help finding a Hair & Makeup Artist in your area? As an added bonus, I can help you with this - free of charge. Booking & payment is coordinated by you.

Styling for an e-Commerce store is about making sure your product is the key focus in the images, everything else is there to compliment the product

What I require from you is images of the pieces that will go online so that I can style some looks around your pieces. At the same time as preparing the outfits, I will put together the HMU direction board to compliment the desired look. This can be handed to the HMUA (if using one) or the model.

Please note to not confuse gallery product styling with editorial-type styling (I.e. content for social media or marketing purposes). That type of styling does require the same amount of work as apparel as it is about selling a lifestyle

Complete the Personal Styling pre-service questionnaire.

This provides key details about you, your business, audience and brand message.

We have a quick call to go over your answers and meet. If you're happy to go ahead, I will send you over the payment details for the deposit to secure your booking.

This service can be offered virtually or in-person

Deposit has been paid I will begin preparing the overall looks

Depending on whether this shoot is conducted in-person or virtually determines the next steps

Option Five:

Front-End Website Audit for New or Small Businesses

Fill in the pre-service questionnaire to help me learn about your brand/website goals

After analysing your answers, we will have a quick call to go over them and to formally introduce myself.

If you're happy to go ahead, I will send over the details to organise payment.

  • Small or new e-commerce retailers who want to improve sales and customer site experience

  • Front-end website audit (in other words, what the customer sees)

  • Honest feedback and guidance on where you need to make changes to increase conversions and lower your bounce back rate

  • I use my e-commerce experience from two large retailers to help you grow and improve your business

  • Includes a quick social media check, on-top of the full website audit

  • A fraction of the cost of a consultancy firm

More information:

For new brands who have never been in the business before, I understand how difficult it can be to find your site consistency. You might have a great vision and product, but for some reason customers aren't responding as well as you hoped. You might be feeling a bit lost and not sure where to go for advice without having to spend thousands of dollars. On the other hand, you may be a very small online retailer who is isn't getting as many customer conversions as you like or have a less favourable bounce rate? This service is to do with product, content and the site experience. I don't consider myself an expert in this field, but I do have the experience and understanding from working within e-Commerce for two large online retailers, in various departments. From this, I have been able understand what a new/small online retailer needs to get them started on the right foot or to get them on track. I personally audit your website from the front-end (i.e. what the customer sees) and provide you with honest feedback of where your website needs to improve to help with customer conversion. My goal is to use my experience to help you grow your business. Being this is not a 'professional' service, it costs a fraction of the price of a consulting firm. Nonetheless you will come out of this service with key guidance and put on the right track to making more sales.

Once your deposit has been paid, I will begin the audit. Depending on the size of your website, you should receive this within one week.

Service includes a $89 voucher to use towards in-person e-Commerce styling or 10% discount on virtual styling for e-commerce.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Q&A's

circle-cropped (37) (1).png

Where are you based?

I am a Gold Coast, Australia based fashion and wardrobe stylist

What is your experiece?

I have been working in e-Commerce Fashion for a few years styling outfits for campaigns, assisting in ecommerce styling, implementing sample processes for pre-shoots and various other projects. Recently, I have been working with some select smaller brands to style their product and help them grow their business. For as long as I can remember, people have asked for my style guidance and opinion. Above all, I am confident in my skills to leave you with a more than satisfied result. You can find out more about my expertise on my Instagram page @styling.bd. After more information? Contact me with any questions you have and I will get back to as soon as

Who pays for the additional styling pieces?

Unless I have suitable pieces available on hand, additional styling pieces such as footwear are usually at the cost of the client. In some cases, your model may be able to bring the missing items. If you do need to purchase styling items, I can link you to the recommended products at a suitable price point. - This is not financial advice, but anything that you buy for your business (including styling pieces) should be tax deductible - check with your accountant. - If you are a multi-brand website, some of your brands may be willing to 'promo' a piece here and there for continued use.

Is a deposit required?

A 15% deposit or upfront payment is required to secure a booking. The In-Person Prep+Style Service has 7 days to finalise the balance of the service fee. All other services require full payment prior to service completion. For example, the virtual and the site audit services will require full payment prior to the service documents handover.

Do you offer payment plans?

In some circumstances we can discuss a payment plan - get in contact and see what we can do.

You don't advertise a styling service I am after - do you offer custom services?

Absolutely! If what you're after doesn't fit into any of the services I currently advertise, please feel free to contact me with what it is you are after and we will work out pricing and inclusions.

What if I don't like your outfit options?

This really shouldn't ever be an issue as I do my best to ensure that I get to know your brand goals and message before preparing outfits to avoid disappointment all together. If at the stage of fine-tuning the look you are unhappy, I will keep working until the desired look is achieved.

What are your travel fees?

- Zone 1 (Gold Coast) : No travel fee - Zone 2 (Gold Coast+Surrounds) : $29 travel fee - Zone 3 (South of QLD Border) : $39 travel fee - Zone 4 (South of Brisbane+CBD) : $39 travel fee Zone Maps: * Click here to view document Gold Coast: Brisbane: South of QLD Border:

What do you do on-set for a and ecomm studio and/or creative shoot?

Besides pre-styling the outfits and prepping them, other things that I do include: - Creating moodboards for the creative direction. This is to set a theme and helps all talent involved work uniformly. For example, the moodboard will contain HMU for the HMUA to follow. The model can use this to get in the mindset of the theme and use as pose inspiration. This is applicable to marketing shoots, not necessarily for e-Commerce product images. - Purchasing or sourcing styling items if not owned (usually items such a jewellery and footwear. Note that this may be at the cost of the business, but will be discussed prior) - Dressing the model/s to ensure that they wear the outfit correctly and that everything is sitting right - temporary adjustments may also be made - One of the most important things I do, because it saves you lots of time and money spent on editing, is making sure the details are correct. This includes things such as hair placement, garment placement, background objects and poses. The photographer is usually busy focusing on other matters, which makes it difficult to always keep an eye out for things out of place.

How long is a half day & full day booking for in-person services?

- Half day 4.5hrs - Full day 8.5hrs Time includes preparation of steaming. For example, if there is an hours worth of steaming this contributes to booked time. I try to go as quick as I can, while maintaining quality work.

Do you offer re-booking discounts?

Absolutely! I love rewarding repeat clients. You will receive a 10% discount on each re-book (from the original, advertised price)

Corporate/Business/ Workplace Styling

This is all about getting to know your personality, and assessing your concerns and wardrobe. It does not necessarily require you to go buy a whole new wardrobe.

I offer a range of services in this category that all essentially leave you feeling more confident in your wardrobe.

Bringing your creative ideas to life to sell a lifestyle and brand message.

Your product is shown in a setting that communicates a feeling and leaves the customer longing for that look and lifestyle.

Great option for e-Commerce stores producing creative marketing/social content

Unlike creative fashion campaigns, e-commerce is all about selling the product and making sure it is the main focus of the image.

I make sure the model is there to compliment the product, not necessarily to be the face of it. It is to make sure that the product 'pops' so that the customer doesn't get confused about what you are selling

This service is offered to any business industry who is creating a commercial or film advertisement.

Your actors/actresses will be dressed tailored to the type of ad and not have the outfit distract the audience from the real message you are communicating to the audience.

If you are wanting to produce 'still' images for an advertisement, please view the Creative Marketing Shoots service.

A great gift idea for your employees, whether it's for new starters, recent probation completion, milestones, Christmas, or whenever a thank you is due. Not only is this a great gift idea, it helps set a company standard. This service combines your company dress code and your employees personality - together creating a 'uniform' and confidently dressed individual.
